August 24, 2013

Well, I guess six weeks is the magic number.  Things have really changed in the last week.  Grimsby is getting to be a great walking partner. he would walk all day if he could.  I think using a harness with him has been a major help.

Of course he has to have some time to stop and search for bugs.  What a character.  But he does hunt them down and eats them if he gets to them fast enough.  Jumps up to catch moths and butterflies but so far hasn't had any luck with that.  He is still trying though.  Grimsby loves his toys and plays with them all of the time.  If I pick them up to clean, I turn around and they are back out.  Doesn't want anything moved.

Now to Diamond.  Diamond is also getting better with walking, but can still be a bit of a challenge when she wants to be.  Each day she wakes up, everything is a new and exciting adventure for her.  She can't wait to get started.  Follows me everywhere until Foster Dad walks in and then she only has eyes for him.  She loves to play, play, play. When she is out in the fenced yard, she stands up at the fence on her hind legs, hanging onto the fence to see better.  Cracks me up.  She looks like a little bear.  A doe and her fawn came close to the yard and Diamond got so excitied.  She stood up and made the strangest noise - sounded like she was screaming, but under her breath.

Wonder what these little southern babies are going to be like when Wisconsin winter rolls around.  Should be fun and interesting.

Both dogs have changed so much, starting to trust and relax, which is great to see.  Realizing they are safe and secure and getting fed every day doesn't hurt either.  Two great little dogs who seem to appreciate everything you do for them.
Reminds me of a saying I heard once "Lord, help me be half the person this dog thinks I am".

You gotta love em!!!
